Painting

I worked for a short while in the autistic provision at an infant school and the little boy I was supporting really loved ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson so I painted these story spoons to use as a resource. ​He absolutely loved these and it was a nice way to make the story interactive and encourage communication / active participation. ​In terms of my process. I just copied the images and used super cheap acrylic paints and then did the outlines in fine liner.

Collage

I went to the car boot sale and got a huge pile of old magazines and newspapers for about a fiver and used them to make some collages
I visited the Angelina Ballerina Exhibition at the Museum of Cambridge and was inspired to experiment with drawing some rats in a more anthrophromorphic style. The natural shape of a rat reminded me of the posture of an older person so I drew an old lady rat
